May 2012 - at present as Consultant to Asian Development Bank, Manila for the TA Project Advancement of Institutional Reform Actions Towards Holistic IWRM.

March 2011 - April 2012 as Advisor to Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka for setting up an Advanced Centre for Integrated Water Resources Management (AC-IWRM) to support implementation of IWRM and River Basin planning in Karnataka; Also initiating reforms in Engineering Staff College, Karnataka Engineering Research Station (KERS), Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) and other organizations.

2004 May 2010 as National Programme Coordinator with Food and Agriculture Organization of The United Nations. Performing the full range of normative, operational and programme tasks in support of the activities of the FAO in the areas of land and water and rural development with special focus on Agriculture and Water Resources viz., Watershed Management, Small Scale Community Irrigation, Soil & Water Conservation, Groundwater Management, Drainage and Salinity, Hydrology, Integrated Water Resources Management, etc. with emphasis on the institutional and capacity building issues. Liaison with the Senior Government personnel and local institutions and groups and to represent FAO in meetings, workshops, working groups and in other fore related to the land and water sector. Coordinate with CTAs or NPDs, the preparation and regular revision of project work plans and project budgets and monitor their implementation. Assisting in the implementation of land and water activities and monitoring progress, quality and the technical and organizational aspects of projects and discussing the progress and quality of projects and any problems which may arise, with the counterpart agencies which are involved in the projects and advise on improvements.

1996 - 2004 as Senior Programme Officer with Development Cooperation Department of Royal Netherlands Embassy, New Delhi. Job description includes the implementation of policy viz., assisting in the formulation of policy and rules and regulations within the sector; policy level negotiations with Government of India and various state governments; Coordinating the implementation of current development projects; Assesing the need and extending technical assistance to various government departments; Contributing to the preparation of new projects or programmes including content contributions and Implementing Management and Administrative tasks viz., Assisting in relation to the management, administration and financial-economic aspects of projects in progress and in the pipeline, contributing to commitment administration and reporting on financial planning and progress, monitoring financial and administrative frameworks; Checking the financial aspects of budgets and draft contracts; Checking claims and financial reports (including advances), and initiating the effecting of payments; Checking the processing of financial data in project administration; Taking care of the financial closure of projects; Taking care of a number of registrations and the resulting reports and reminders; Taking care of the preparation of Project Support Fund (POF) applications and contracts under POF.

1995 - 1996 as Research Officer with Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission (RGNDWM), Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India. Job responsibilities include appraisal of research projects from various states and civil society, monitoring and evaluation of research & development programmes/projects in rural water supply and sanitation sector all over India; networking with various research institutes; dissemination of the emerging technologies; co-ordinating seminars/ workshops/ Congresses; preparation of booklets/handouts, News Digests, etc.

1992 -1995 as Geophysicist with PROGRESS (a voluntary scientific service agency) Hyderabad, India. Nature of work include planning, implementing and monitoring of watershed programmes, soil and water conservation, groundwater exploration through hydrogeological and geophysical surveys, complete water source inventory, water quality monitoring, environmental isotope studies, supervising drilling operations, borehole logging, well construction, well development, conducting pumping tests, erection of pumps, establishment and monitoring of hydro-met stations, etc.

1990 - 1992 as Research Geophysicist with Gravity and Magnetic division, Centre of Exploration Geophysics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. Job responsibilities were conducting gravity, magnetic and electrical surveys for mineral exploration, topographic surveying, soil sampling, supervising drilling, litholog preparation, etc.
